| Optimum flow rate: | 211 gallons per minute. When using a specific suction you should take in to account the required flow intake for the pump you will be plumbing to and also the heater. On ALL systems it is required by BISHTA standards to install 2 suctions per pump to avoid entrapment and or disembowelment. |

Virginia Graham Baker was the Granddaughter of the former American Secretary of State James Baker III. After her tragic death in 2002 through entrapment, laws were eventually passed in 2007 in the USA on suction design for Pool and Spas. Although not yet passed as an Act in the UK, it is widely expected that this will be the case in the near future. The main feature of this suction as you will see in the picture is an extra outlet at the rear of the fitting. If the whole suction was ever to become completely covered, an air pipe fitted to this nozzle would cause the suction to lose its venom and release the trapped object.
Best to use a plumbing cleaner then pipe cement to assemble. Pipe work pushes inside this part at the female end. |
